Purpose

The current global and national trends in tourism emphasize sustainable practices at destinations as part of building tourism destination resilience. This short course is developed to enable participants to acquire knowledge and skills on how to manage operations in an environmentally sustainable manner.

  • Environmentally sustainable tourism and management processes
  • The evolution, impacts and mitigations of human-wildlife conflicts in Namibia.
  • Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC).
  • The Community Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM) program in Namibia.
  • Monitoring and reducing the consumption of non-renewable natural resources.
  • Types of waste, how to separate recyclables and reduce volumes of waste.
  • Applying social responsibility practices in an organisation.
  • Social responsibility practices: Critical success factors and building resilience against disasters.
